My version of Cinderella Shoes......

I am now that girl who will find every occasion to skip wearing anything above an inch on my feet. However, growing up I did not quite accept that I cannot wear heels nor carry them. And I have had some major accidents pretending to walk in 4 - 6 inches (Yes, for a girl who did not know how to walk in them, I was a bit of a daredevil)... Even the thought of remembering those days while writing just makes me feel so bad and sorry for myself.

On my 25th birthday, I still remember, I wore a jazzy pair of shoe 4'' from Mix no. 6 ( a brand sold DFW) and it literally hurt my feet so bad, we had to cut short my birthday dinner trip and my feet were aching for days after that night.

After my 25th birthday did I finally let myself into accepting that I am not meant for sexy stilettos.

Two years since then, last summer, I got introduced to a brand named 'castañer' and I saw their selection of wedge heels, I always considered wedges as my fall back option to satisfy the feeling of adding a couple more inches to my petite body. However, most of the wedges that I had tried prior to these were either equally uncomfortable as the stilettos or even worse.

But the castañer wedges are a total game changer. The only annoying part of wedge heel generally would be when you have to buckle a strap, but since these are tie ups, you do not have to worry about that, as you can tie your shoes to the desired intensity & be very very comfortable. Another added advantage is the fact that these go with everything, from a simple pair of jeans, to dresses, skirts, literally erryyythinngg and thats why I said they are my version of cinderella shoes <3

I recently also wore them during my first trip to San Francisco, and on my 1st day of being a tourist, I got lost somewhere, and was almost sprinting in the opposite direction to get out of the area. At the end of my sprint, more than feeling happy for the fact that I managed my way out, I was happy about my purchase. :)

Now, coming to the price point, I bought these off of Net-A-Porter for $90, and I know that $90 is a lot more to spend on a pair of shoe, but, since I wear it to every occasion possible, I am already getting the cost per wear down on them. And being a person who has always opted for the cheapest shoe possible over comfort or durability, I have definitely learnt my lesson the hard way.

Since I bought these wedges, they have gone up in price and are now sold on Net-A-Porter above $100. However, I have found an amazing site Matchesfashion where you can get these exact shoes  for $85. But, for some reason, when I am launching the website now, it does not show the cost of the shoe to be $85, instead it shows $100+, but, via the mobile app the cost is still $85, I assure you that. (Reallllyyyy dont know why there is this difference in price between the two)

Additionally, matchesfashion has a wide array of these shoes in many colors and varied heel heights, so giving us all more options to choose from, yay!! <3 (I know there is an additional overhead of downloading the app, but it never hurts to have a retailer app, isn't it? *_* )

Hope you enjoyed the story of my version of cinderella shoes, I would love to hear your thoughts about them in the comments below and also your story about a pair of shoe that you swear by!

Love xx
